PIER Day 2025 and PIER PLUS Poster Walk

PIER Day 2025 will take place in the CFEL building.

This year’s PIER Day will take place on November 25, 2025, at the Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld. The event is jointly organized with PIER PLUS focusing on AI and Science, and introduces the PIER PLUS Poster Walk: “AI and Science: Unexpected Connections and Method Innovation”. A keynote by Prof. Dr. Lucie Flek of the University of Bonn will complement the event.

PIER Day 2025 will take place on November 25, 2025 at the Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld and provides a platform to showcase advances from PIER-funded research projects and to explore future collaborative research efforts. Highlights include insights into PIER Seed Projects and discussions on nanochemistry, detector research, and artefact profiling. The event emphasizes emerging trends in AI and Data Science, organized in collaboration with PIER PLUS, and features a variety of presentations, keynote lectures, and panel discussions as well as a keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Lucie Flek (University of Bonn) on the interdisciplinary connections between physics and AI.

Throughout the afternoon, participants can explore ongoing AI and Data Science initiatives within Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld and engage in the PIER PLUS Poster Walk, introduced this year. After the Poster Walk a panel discussion will focus on establishing Hamburg as an attractive hub for AI and Data Science innovation. The PIER Day offers a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, identify partnership opportunities, and foster future collaborations in cutting-edge scientific fields.
