PIER Innovation & Knowledge Exchange positions the Hamburg metropolitan region as one of the leading science and innovation locations in Northern Europe. The vision is to sustainably promote knowledge and technology transfer (KTT) along the PIER PLUS profiles from research and to make the innovative strength of the metropolitan region visible.

PIER PLUS is embedded in an attractive innovation ecosystem and supports the Impossible Founders, the “Startup Factory” of the Hamburg metropolitan region. This is where scientific excellence, entrepreneurial dynamism and social responsibility come together to turn talent and technology into high-growth start-ups.

In the Board of Academic Ambassadors, scientists are involved as entrepreneurial academics, academic entrepreneurs, scouts and mentors. They inspire and support talents in transfer projects and start-up projects, especially in future-oriented fields such as green tech, AI and quantum computing.
