History of PIER PLUS

As early as 2011, the German Electron Synchrotron DESY and Universität Hamburg formed a strategic partnership: PIER. Since then, they have worked together to support inter-institutional research projects, ensure high-quality training for young academics, and provide an innovation-friendly culture at the Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld (SCHB) science campus.

Since this collaboration in PIER was so successful, Universität Hamburg, as the metropolitan region’s flagship institution, brought together even more collaborative activities to form a focused strategic partnership: PIER PLUS.
